Cleaning Printables By Room

June 17, 2024 by fullerlifeblog Leave a Comment

Cleaning can be fun (and even more effective) when we see a goal infront of us broken down into bite sized pieces, giving us the confidence to complete it in a snap. These room by room printables help to keep everyone on track and ensures that the jobs are getting done.

Some of these printables are best for bigger kids and adults, but younger children can definitely help clean alongside you.

How To Make Cleaning Easier For Kids

Make cleaning a regular part of your kid’s routine.

I have found that the more often my kids are introduced to something on a regular basis, the more accepting they are to that change or habit. The key is to introduce kids to cleaning for “fun” at a young age. Toddlers find joy in helping with the smallest of tasks, so don’t be scared to get them involved as soon as they show interest. Older kids can be trickier to convince when introducing them to new tasks. The best advice that I can give for getting big kids on board is to be consistent. If they get into the practice of completing a certain chore routinely, the less taken aback they will be when asked to do a task.

Make cleaning supplies accessible and kid friendly.

When letting kids take on cleaning responsibilities, you will not only be teaching them valuable life lessons, but as they get older, you will actually begin to notice that the chores they are doing are so helpful to you! But to insure that this habit is one that sticks, you must be sure to make cleaning easy and safe for the smallest of hands. One of the best things that we have done for our household is hanging cellulose cloths in each bathroom and in the kitchen area. These reusable cloths aren’t like regular cleaning cloths. They are so easy to grab, wet, wipe, rinse and hang. There is no need to go find cleaning supplies when a quick wipe down is needed, keeping the grime at bay in between regular cleaning. They dry quickly, and have no odor, unlike other dish cloths that smell stinky after a few hours laying on the sink. We have also switched our every day chemical cleaners out with natural plant based cleaning products. This makes it so easy to say yes every time my daughter asks to help spray and wipe, because I’m not having to worry about what she is exposing her skin to, and what she might be breathing in when I’m cleaning too. You can also make your own safe cleaning products for a fraction of the price of store bought.

List of tasks to complete and set expectations through explanation.

I recommend laminating all of my printables, especially ones used for cleaning. This will keep them in great shape to be used over and over again. These printables are great to keep in the room that they are used for, like under the bathroom or kitchen sink, or hanging beside a bedroom dresser for bedrooms. They can be used by adults or kids to keep cleaning easy!
