This banana pudding recipe is a light take on a classic banana pudding, perfect for a Sunday afternoon dessert, or any family get together.

Banana Pudding- A Family Favorite
Banana pudding is such a versatile dessert, and is a great addition to any meal in my opinion. Banana pudding has been a family dessert staple for as long as I can remember, and many still claim it to be a family favorite! This recipe has become my go to when throwing together a dessert that is both delicious and comforting.
Ingredients In This Banana Pudding
This recipe came about when I didn’t have the exact ingredients needed to make a Pinterest famous recipe, and I liked how it turned out just a little bit lighter than it was supposed to. This banana pudding recipe is creamy and sweet, but light and not too rich. The ingredients for this recipe are classic ones such as bananas, vanilla wafers, instant vanilla pudding mix, whipped topping, and life changing ingredients like cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. What makes this recipe just a little different, is the ratio of ingredients. This recipe has about half as much cream cheese and pudding mixture than some others, making it not so rich. (Though I love a creamy and rich dessert) This one is good for a lighter dessert option.
How To Make This Banana Pudding
To make this Banana Pudding recipe, start by lining a 9×13 dish with vanilla wafers. Then cut up 6 bananas and layer on top of the wafers.
Next, mix together a 3.4 oz box of instant vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of 2% milk in a bowl with a hand mixer. In a separate bowl mix together 4 oz of cream cheese with 1 can of sweetened condensed milk. Then fold in 8 oz of whipped topping into the pudding mixture. After that, add in the cream cheese/condensed milk mixture into the pudding. Pour this into the dish covering the bananas completely. Lastly crush up any remaining wafers and sprinkle on top of the pudding. Refrigerate for 1 hour or more before serving, or overnight if you have a later event. Store this for 3-4 days. The longer it is stored the softer the cookies will become. Though I find that these don’t take as long to soften as chessman cookies, so it doesn’t have to sit overnight if you have to make it in a pinch.
