3 Ingredient Pumpkin Pie Play Dough Recipe

This pumpkin pie play dough is taste safe and smells so yummy! Made with just 3 ingredients, this fall activity is easy enough for the littlest of hands to help make.
Every year since my son was about 2 years old, we have made this recipe together as a fun fall tradition. My daughter now loves doing this fall activity together too, and she thinks that it is just the most fun to make!

How To Make Pumpkin Pie Play Dough
This recipe is super simple to make, and uses only 3 ingredients!
To make pumpkin pie play dough, you will need 1 can of Pumpkin Purée, Corn Starch, and Pumpkin Pie Spice.

Begin by mixing 1 can of pumpkin purée with about 2 cups of corn starch. The consistency should be similar to cookie dough. If the dough is too tacky, just add a little more corn starch.

Once you have the right consistency of dough, sprinkle in your desired amount of pumpkin pie spice. The more, the better!

You now should have a squishy ball of pumpkin pie fun!

You can encourage your little ones to smell, squish, and play with the dough. Ask questions about the smell, color, and if they are brave, taste, of the dough!
This dough is taste safe, so it is okay if your little one happens to lick the dough or stick a pinch in their mouth. Though the dough is not meant to taste desirable enough to continue to take bites 🙂

To add more fun to this easy fall activity, you can make a simple fall themed play dough plate. Here we added pipe cleaners, leaves, feathers, googly eyes, pom poms, and acorns. You can add whatever fall elements that you can find around your house.


You can also add cookie cutters to make fun shapes.
